Christmas Book Fayre

After a lengthy break, I thought it time for another blog. Darker nights are a time for reading in front of the fire with a cup of something warming and with Christmas galloping near, what better than a book fayre. A chance for local authors to showcase their books, and for shoppers to stock up on Christmas reading for all the family.

The fayre  is taking place in the ST MAGNUS CENTRE, KIRKWALL on FRIDAY 6th DECEMBER between 2-5pm.

Among those already signed up to take part are

Orkney Voices with their Orcadian poetry book

Orkney Vibes who make handcrafted books

Orkney Uncovered  who have written a book about Orkney

Les Cowan who writes crime novels

Gaby Barmby who has set two of her novels in Orkney

Laura Kitney  who writes science fiction/fantasy

Monique Scott who is an illustrator and has written and illustrated a children's book

Britt Harcus who writes for children

Val More  who has written a personal account of her walk of faith

Lyn Johnson  who has written the best-selling workhouse girl series

me  author of historical novels and fantasy books

The full list has not been finalised and we are hoping for a few more names to join us, but as you see, there is something for everyone. Look out for posters in the town next month and tell your friends!
